Feelings of jealousy can arise from past experiences or insecurities, leading to unhealthy dynamics in the relationship.
Busy schedules and external responsibilities can prevent couples from spending meaningful time together, leading to feelings of neglect.
Variations in how partners express themselves can lead to frustration and a sense of being misunderstood.
A lack of novelty or excitement can make the relationship feel stale, leading to boredom and dissatisfaction.
Financial issues, family pressures, or work-related stress can spill over into the relationship, creating additional strain.
Change is possible, and I can help.
How I can help
In couples therapy I utilize emotionally focused therapy (to improve safe and effective communication), acceptance and commitment therapy (to help clarify values to support in decision making), and cognitive behavioral therapy (to help identify faulty thinking patterns that may affect how you show up in your relationship)
Our 50 minute sessions will begin with teaching you about attachment styles, faulty thinking patterns, emotionally safe communication, and will help you clarify your values. Once we’ve created a steady foundation we’ll process through any past relationship injuries (cheating, lying, breaking promises). Once we’ve come to a place of repair we can then start to explore how you and you’re partner interact in your daily life and changes to communication, behaviors, and priorities that could improve your relationship.
Couples therapy can help you…
Communicate your needs more effectively.
Reduce Tit for Tat arguing.
Gain greater understanding about yourself and your partner.
Learn to feel emotionally safe in your relationship again.
Rebuild intimacy.
